Understanding the Need for Income Protection Insurance

All men and women are very much aware they they've to work pretty much till their last day of retirement (and perhaps even beyond that) in order to earn their bread and butter. Most of the people consider the capacity to pool the financial resources as the greatest monetary asset.

Income Protection Insurance is considered as insurance policy that ensures compensation throughout the lifetime in the unfortunate event that the policy holder gets incapacitated for life-time, and becomes unable to work because of accident or illness thereafter. IPI policies were formerly known as Permanent Health Insurance.

By registering with the income protection insurance, the person can secure almost 75 percent of his monthly wages, when he is not physically healthy to work for certain time period.

Men and women who are not certain about the terms and conditions of the insurance policy can take the financial advisory assistance. This is because those professionals are very much willing to help you in managing the monetary resources in right manner.

Benefits of Income Protection Insurance

Income protection insurance offers you several benefits when compared with the other insurance policies like accident, unemployment insurance, sickness and personal accidents.

Benefits related to income protection insurance are payable when the policy holder becomes incapacitated. The policy depends upon the terms of contract. Benefits should be paid on regular basis and are exempt from tax.

Insurance companies cannot refuse or cancel the policy provided to the policy holder, if he/she has paid the premium on-time throughout the tenure of the policy.

Benefit Limits - Usually, benefits are limited to certain extent or to some percentage of the normal earnings of the policy holder. The limit will be around seventy percent of gross earnings. It could be less than 70 % for high earners.

Pricing - IPI policies are expensive due to the guarantees that are offered by the policy. Premium decreases as deferred period increases. Options like 'any occupation' and 'suited occupation' or 'own occupation' will reduce the policy cost.

Taxation

Premiums that are paid by employers for providing the coverage for their employees are tax-deductible. Benefit payments that are paid from policy, following the illness or accident of the policyholder are free of National Insurance contributions and income tax.

Regulation

IPI policies are also called long-term insurance and they are regulated by FSA- Financial Services Authority under the rules of Insurance Conduct of Business Sourcebook.

This regulation requires insurance company to keep the contract records for 6 months.

Converting From VHS to Digital Media: Preserving Your Memories From the Ravages of Time

More and more people are bringing old memories back to life with a digital makeover and preserving them for their descendants with the knowledge that their old analogue recordings have a short shelf life, particularly when our old recording are stored in a place that can be detrimental to traditional analogue media such as VHS or 8mm recordings.

How many precious family memories do you have tucked away in your attic space or degrading in an outbuilding? Both video and audio tape have a ferric oxide coating. Over time this came become dry and brittle just like old parcel tape and it can snap easily. But dried out tape is the least worry to your archive. To their horror, many people dig out their old memories only to discover that the inside of their old tapes are covered in thick 'tape mould'.

The reason our precious archives languish gathering dust is our inability to preserve those old memories on newer media such as DVD. These days, there are many companies that specialize in converting our treasured memories and the possibilities are endless with new forms of editing software as well as software that can enhance the quality of our old recording.

As we move forward and away from the eighties and the nineties the rate of deterioration on the word's precious archive of analogue recordings should not be underestimated. The very worst place we could chose to store away our treasured memories is the very place that people are choosing to store them: garden sheds; lofts and cellars. The British Library has advised that recording should be stored in a dark place away from damp and heat.

VHS recordings have a shelf life of around ten years. Compare that with the fact that some of the earliest data recordings made in Japan still have data intact to this day.

Digital recording not only last longer than their analogue counterparts they are easy to store and display and are not composed of bulky and unsightly plastic cases that once scattered the average eighties and nineties home.

As we turn away from analogue and embrace digital media in our homes we must revisit our family memories and remind ourselves that we need to act now if we are to preserve what we have for the future.

How Blog Success Is Like Political Success

Your blog success, especially if you're looking to earn money blogging, in many ways is EXACTLY like a political campaign! Considering this is the season for politics, at least here in the US, I thought this comparison was fitting, so thanks for indulging me! But getting back to building a successful blog that can produce a steady internet income, let's examine the similarities between being a blogger or a politician!

Advertise vs. Campaign

Bloggers are like any other business entities found online insofar as they must advertise their presence to get visitors to their platform! Generating traffic using whatever means available is the only way to develop a successful blog, which is of course is one that has plenty of visitors! Politics are very similar due to the fact they must 'get out there' and make their 'points or position' known to voters as well! Of course the way you advertise your platform or present your political position is how you influence visitors or voters! The bottom line is that without creating this awareness neither bloggers nor those in politics will every experience the success they seek!

Visit vs. Vote

For every visit to your site or vote in your favor both the blogger and the politician have moved one step closer to their ultimate goal! In the case of someone trying to earn money blogging, you now have the attention of a potential customer while a single voter puts you that much closer to being elected to office!

Purchase vs. Elect

By virtue of the visitors you have 'persuaded' to land on your platform that make a purchase, a blogger is now earning an internet income! One sale might not be much but when you are able to generate enough sales you are definitely on your way and obviously you're doing something right! The same can be said for the candidate looking for votes, the more they received the greater their chances of winning the election! In either case both the blogger and the politician needs to maintain a consistency of their prior efforts to continue along the same successful path that seems to be working!

Although achieving blog success in terms of generating an internet income has been compared to politics, please excuse any unintended insults! I speak of course to those who want to earn money blogging since they in fact contribute POSITIVELY to our economy! The reason for the comparison between building a successful blog that fills a demand and generates an internet income and those with political aspirations is simple! Both need to earn the popular vote with their audiences to succeed, and where the blogger must prove their worth, politicians merely have to tell people what they want to hear! However building a successful blog does offer 'parallels' to that of the political election process, and that ironic comparison was the intent here today! Thanks for indulging me!

Getting Married Revokes Your Will

There are a number of ways to revoke a Will, including destroying your old Will or making a brand new one stating that the old Will is revoked.

Many people are surprised to learn, however, that getting married or forming a civil partnership revokes an existing Will. The result is that any Will you have made before you marry no longer has any effect and instead the rules of intestacy will govern what happens to your estate.

This could have disastrous consequences, especially if you have already used a solicitor to carefully draft a Will dividing assets between children from a previous relationship and your new spouse. This may have involved a lot of planning, discussion and work to come to an arrangement that suits everybody.

By marrying, you revoke your existing Will and instead your new spouse will inherit at least the first £250,000.00 of your estate. This could cut your children out of your Will altogether and leave them with nothing. They would then be forced into lengthy and expensive court action to benefit from your estate, adding to what will already be a difficult time for them. Alternatively if your estate is much bigger then you could find that your spouse is no longer your main beneficiary and instead other more distant family members as well as your spouse end up inheriting your assets. At its worst the result could be that your spouse is forced to sell assets to pay your relatives.

It is possible to stop marriage revoking your Will should you be contemplating marriage at the date your Will is signed. Your will can be prepared in such a way that it expressly states the Will is not to be revoked when you marry. Without any such expression, and despite what your wishes may be, the act of getting married means that your Will is revoked.

If you find yourself in this situation, then the simplest solution is to execute your Will again. This would bring it back into force and ensure that your last wishes are adhered to following your death. The problem that occurs is that you may not remember to do so or put it off until it is too late to do anything about it. It you have previously made and will and subsequently married it is a good idea to re-execute your will as soon as possible. This will ensure that your wishes are carried out following your death.

Ten Tips For Effective Insurance Search Engine Marketing

Insurance Search Engine Marketing encompasses the optimization of your Insurance Website for improved exposure, traffic and Search Engine Result Pages (appearing on Google page one for example in a Search Engine Results Page or SERP). The goal for insurance organizations, be they insurance carriers, brokers or insurance agencies, is to achieve organic Google page one results, preferably position one, but at a minimum, "above the fold". I'm using Google in this case generically, as the same goal is true for Bing and Yahoo, though Google still commands the leading market share and often receives the most attention when it comes to Insurance Search Engine Marketing. Make sure you have the top 10 tips in place to ensure you are on the right path to achieve your web marketing goals. That said, Insurance Search Engine Marketing is a highly complex initiative, and requires ongoing efforts for both on-page and off-page tactics.

Make your top keyword phrase an H1 Tag on your Home Page (and use H1 Tags accordingly on subsequent pages). Optimize each insurance website page for a specific long tail keyword phrase. Don't try to work on four or five phrases on every page. Optimize your page title, meta description, and meta keywords for your long tail keywords, again focusing on a specific long tail for each page. Integrate an insurance blog and insurance vlog feed on your home page (which presupposes you have a relevant insurance blog and vlog) Add ongoing video and make sure the video is tagged and optimized for load speed. Remember the "freshness" factor mentioned above. Make sure you are utilizing reasonable keyword density that would appeal to a human being as opposed to your perception of what a "search bot" might like to index. Figures vary, though 6% is often considered a good target. Then again, if it reads well, it will often work well. Use anchor links where and when possible. Make your back links, quality links. Place content only with reputable sites. Quality website content should be your credo. Large images may be attractive but don't help you with your Insurance Search Engine Marketing goals. Treat content like produce, in other words, freshness counts. With Google's recent algorithm shifts, there is greater emphasis on current content. Things like blog feeds, news releases and other up to date content will help your Insurance Search Engine Marketing Initiative.

It's essential that insurance carriers, brokers, insurance agencies and agents perform baseline and ongoing keyword analytics. This can be accomplished with free tools such as Google AdWords or more sophisticated keyword analytic tools like Web CEO or HubSpot. It is only after this analysis has been completed that the steps above can be implemented. Once the basics have been completed, off-page Insurance Search Engine Marketing initiatives come into play including ePublishing, YouTube Video, LinkedIn, Facebook, Social Bookmarking and other Insurance Social Media Marketing programs. SEO results should be consistently monitored and measured, preferably every week, but at least once a month. Adjustments should be made periodically based upon your progress.

Insurance Search Engine Marketing offers carriers, brokers, agencies and independent agents an opportunity to level the playing field. The interesting dynamic with the web marketing paradigm shift, is that it allows any insurance organization, regardless of size or area of specialization, an opportunity to gain top rankings. Unlike PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns, which require ongoing budget and constant monitoring, organic search engine marketing initiatives fall under a plant and harvest mentality. As spring approaches, the time has come to plant the seeds for your long tail keywords so your insurance company can harvest the improved website traffic and insurance leads in the months to come.
